“The London Business School MBA – it’s a transformative experience!” I’d been told this many times before by friends who had been to London Business School, and now that we’re nearly halfway into our first academic term, I can see how this is going to be true. First of all, I am tired. More so than I’ve ever been before. I’m probably going to graduate with a few more wrinkles and my first grey hairs. Second, I’m always in a hurry (a bad case of Hurry Sickness – you’ll learn about this in your first week). Third, I’m much more of a coffee addict than I used to be. Caffeine practically runs through my veins, now.

But fourth, I’m fast learning how to cope with weekly mountains of work that deceptively initially seem small – alongside running a business and being plugged into several other outside pursuits. And fifth – I’m learning everyday the new opportunities that will be open to me after my MBA. Not just in career terms, but also from the interactions that I have with people who ordinarily have little common ground with me (different country, different background, different work experience, different outlook on life…), and from the overall atmosphere in the fervent business hive that is London Business School. There’s definitely something in the air.

In short, I love this. I can feel a gradual positive transmogrification, and I’m looking forward to the outcome. It’s going to be a bumpy road and sometimes I’ll want the adventure to stop, but I’m anticipating the destination and I’m going to make the most of the journey along the way.
